Money Magick For The Home: Using Magic To Thrive During A Recession Or Unstable Financial Times
Here I am on Black Monday (April 7th) looking at the headlines about the economy and the stock market crash. It looks very likely that a recession may soon become a reality for America and many other countries around the world. I am pondering, racking my brain, trying to figure out how I can help. Then it hits me, people need to know how to fight back. People need to know how to make magic work for them. People need access to resources now more than ever. THAT, I can do!
It’s so interesting because since the end of last year this is where my mind has been at. “How can I help others survive these distressing times????” That train of thought is what inspired my two upcoming classes, Money Magic: Thriving With Witchcraft During Uncertain Times, happening at Crescent Moon Gifts in Tacoma, Washington, and our upcoming virtual 6-week course The Foundations Of Witchcraft. But I want to do MORE, and I want to do things that are equally accessible to ALL. So, here I am.
Working money magick for the home is important. It keeps your family prosperous. It keeps your finances secure. It keeps the good energy in place. The best part is, it doesn’t have to be complicated AND it can be incorporated into your regular home care routines. If there is one thing I am passionate about it’s practical magic that packs a punch! The scope of usefulness of money magick reaches far beyond attracting money to you. Part of working successful money magick is incorporating different forms of money magick into your regular money magick routines. Things like road opening and cleansings help to keep the state of your money flow in working order. Attraction magick helps keep money and blessings flowing in. Working magick to obtain favor will help you to stay prosperous. Luck magick attracts windfalls and strokes of luck.
But there are SO many ways to go about these various forms of magick. Finding what works best for you is my suggestion. The only way to do that is through experimentation. People always tense at this thought. Perhaps it stems from a common misconception that money spells, or spells in general, can somehow make bad things happen. I have heard other witches say they don’t work money spells because they are afraid they will gain money through an untimely inheritance (they think their money candle will ☠ Uncle Al).
Let me put your mind at ease. Magick isn’t a trick. Spells to bring blessings don’t cause misfortune. It is incredibly important to set clear intentions and to do so with a clear head and grounded emotions. Backfires are extremely rare and usually happen through ignorance, carelessness, or mishaps. Ex: You light a candle to protect you from your shady coworker and you don’t realize a piece of your hair fell onto the spell plate and a week later you lose your job. You are not being punished, you just weren’t careful enough and accidentally created a taglock (to learn more checkout a blog we wrote last year on spell backfires). So it’s not that the spell is backfiring on you, it’s that you put a piece of yourself into the spell through the unintentional taglock and you were removed because the spell anchored to you. Using DNA creates the strongest magical bond. In this economy you cannot afford to NOT practice money magick, so let’s cover some simple yet effective ways to do so!
When it comes to working simple, practical spells to keep your home and family prosperous you have many options to choose from. I am a big fan of working my rituals and magick into my day to day tasks to keep up with my spiritual maintenance. How does one accomplish this? Easy! Make your cleaning, cooking, and lifestyle magickal! Take your regular mopping and make it a ritual by incorporating floor wash into your mop water. I just so happen to make a variety of floor washes that are fixed for various purposes and are safe to add to any mopping solution. I also make a carpet & upholstery refresher powder that doubles as a floor sweep! I also LOVE to put a few drops of spell oil into my laundry soap when I do a load of laundry. So it could be VERY useful to add a drop or two of our Unstoppable Crown Of Success oil into your load of work clothes!
Another form of practical magick is kitchen witchery. All of the foods you cook with have magical properties! Utilize them to keep your family prosperous and protected. Cloves, oranges, cinnamon, sugar, honey, allspice, fenugreek, nutmeg, coffee, chicory, pineapple, ginger, and many more attract money and wealth in different ways. Pumpkin pie spice is the perfect blend of spices to attract money to you. Add it to your cookies, your coffee, get creative with it. Bake and cook with intentions.
An old folk magick trick is to keep a dish of fenugreek on your kitchen table to attract money to your home. Carry a green pouch with fenugreek seeds that have been dressed with our Midas Touch oil in your pocket when asking your boss for raise to gain favor and approval and to seal the deal! Add 7 fenugreek seeds to your mop water to attract money and prosperity into your home or business. Another old magical tip is to keep a piece of calamus root in your pantry or spice cabinet to ensure you and your family never go hungry. Bring houseplants into your home that attract money and prosperity such as money plants and jade plants. Plant thyme in your garden with the intention to grow your wealth and as it grows your money will increase. Another use for thyme is to mix it with mint and bayberry and use it in your spell work to protect your money. Chamomile when mixed with certain other herbs and curios removes money jinxes. Simmer pots which include easily accessible ingredients like lemongrass, lemon, cinnamon and orange can cleanse negative energy around your finances and attract prosperity into your home. Create and place prosperity and money attracting jars around your home. Build a money altar.
There is something to be said for the potency, speed, and effectiveness of candle magick. It works. Well. And, for me, it works most effectively. Candle magick for money magick may just be a crucial step needing to incorporated into your practice. For some, they don’t have the time, space, patience, or desire to do their own spell work.
